Religious Studies
A very warm welcome to the Religious Studies Department website. In the lower years (3rd and 4th Forms) all pupils receive a lesson of general RS each teaching cycle where we investigate basic Christian beliefs and practice. Pupils also learn the fundamentals of the other two main religions in the UK - Judaism and Islam. Those who select to study for GCSE or A Level opt for a subject in which considerable success can be expected. The GCSE course gives pupils an excellent grounding not just in Christian beliefs and practice, but also in core moral issues and the thinking processes which will enable them to formalise their own views. At A Level the subject 'changes its spots' as pupils take on a challenging course of study in Philosophy and Ethics. Much more detail can be found in the relevant pages in this website so please do take a walk around our Department!
It may also be that you are interested in the Christian Chaplaincy work throughout the school. If you are then may I encourage you to visit the 'Chaplaincy' pages of this website where you can find out all that is on offer to help our pupils develop on their faith. Happy reading!
