The School Health Centre is easily accessible to all pupils, being situated centrally within the School and provides a quality Medical and Health Service for both day and boarding pupils.
A dedicated team of professional and experienced Nurses provide 24 hour care throughout the term, within a homely and friendly environment. The Nurses are available for emergencies at any time, day or night as well as running drop-in clinics in our modern fully equipped treatment room. We are supported by a team of experienced General Practitioners (G.P.s) from the local doctor’s surgery in Bruton and the pupils can be seen at the Health Centre by a G.P who attends for a clinic, twice a week. We have ready access to appointments at Bruton Surgery at other times, if required. A private Physiotherapy clinic is held at the Health Centre and a Psychologist runs a confidential clinic one afternoon a week. Pupils with specific medical needs, such as asthma, attend the Health Centre for regular reviews with the specialist Nurse.
We work very closely with the house Matrons, Housemaster/Housemistress’s, teachers and parents to ensure the wellbeing of each pupil. All our Nurses have experience of working with adolescents and children. We all have personal experience as parents and families in international boarding schools and are a key support for the happy healthy life of the King’s School community.
