Chapel Choir Return To Sing Evensong At Tewkesbury Abbey

Choir Music

On Wednesday 1st February the Chapel Choir made a return visit to Tewkesbury Abbey to sing a service of Choral Evensong.

The choir were in excellent form and enjoyed the generous acoustic in the Abbey. The music for the service included: Preces and Responses Nardone, Psalm 118, Canticles Stanford in B flat and the anthem O Thou, The Central Orb Wood. The singing of the psalm was particularly effective with careful attention to diction and the shaping of the text. Particular mention and thanks must go to Alex Hutton (U6th Form, New House) who acted as cantor for the service. We had a number of familiar faces in the congregation and it was great to have some Old Brutonians who live locally come along to support.

Looking ahead, the Chapel Choir will be in residence at Bristol Cathedral on Sunday 30th April 2017 and will be singing at both the 10am Eucharist and 3pm Choral Evensong.
