Friday 4^th November saw the King’s Bruton CCF depart to three different venues for their termly Field Day, writes Craig Barrow, Contingent Commander.

The Advanced Infantry visited the Yoxter Ranges at Priddy where they took part in a 100m live range day run by the Cadet Training Team. Despite some inclement weather the cadets displayed some excellent marksmanship and thoroughly enjoyed their first experience of live firing on a training range. The Army recruits journeyed to the Quantocks where they experienced a day of outdoor adventure activities which included archery, air rifle shooting, assault courses and leadership challenges. The whole Royal Navy section went to Swanage where they had great fun coasteering, sea kayaking and paddle boarding. 

My thanks to the CCF Officers and the NCOs who helped to manage the three events along with Land & Wave (Swanage), Outposts (Quantocks) and Cadet Training Team (Yoxter) for organising the days and running them so professionally. The cadets gained a great deal from the Field Day and it has really aided their development. A gallery of the day can be viewed below.
