4th Form Pupils Investigated Transpiration in their Biology Lesson

Share
Biology 4th Form

The 4th Form were investigating the rate of transpiration, which is the amount of water loss from a plant in a given time.

They had the chance to use a potometer, timing 5 minutes and taking a measurement of how far the bubble on the potometer had moved. This forms part of the Biology specification looking at plant transport and what affects the rate of the transpiration. In the lesson before we had had a look at the Xylem, which is the organ in a plant responsible for transport water from a root to the leaves.
