A Brilliant and Dazzling Array of Talent Shown in our School Play Little Shop of Horrors

Drama and Theatre Performance

The whole school musical, Little Shop of Horrors, was a joyous way to end the Christmas Term.

The pupils, both on the stage and the backstage, worked incredibly well as a team throughout the rehearsals and production week to put on a professional show. It has been great to see pupils from the 3rd Form through to the U6th Form working so closely together.

I have been extremely impressed by the leadership shown by the principles, and the enthusiasm and dedication of the ensemble throughout has been remarkable. The production week saw the cast deliver an open dress rehearsal to a small audience followed by two fully booked audiences of family, friends and staff members. The progression and development shown during the week was excellent, with the cast rising to the occasion to give each audience a performance to remember. This will be the last production at King’s for the U6th Form pupils: Robert, Alex, Amelia, Jasmin, Katie and Violet. I would like to thank them for their support of this production and wish them the best of luck for whatever comes next.

It goes without saying that this kind of production does not happen without a dedicated team from the word go. It has been a joint effort from the backstage team, front of house, show band and cast, and without each piece of the puzzle working hard, it would not have been the success it was. I am hugely grateful to the staff involved; Mr Marshfield, Mr Higgs, Mr Tupman, Mrs Vigers-Belgeonne and Ms King.

Overall, a huge success and its been a joy to work with such wonderful and committed people. Thank you.
