King’s Bruton is celebrating another excellent set of examination results, with pupils achieving a strong performance across the board at GCSE. Following last week’s record-breaking A Level and BTEC results, the School’s Fifth Form pupils have continued the success, with more than 90% of GCSE grades awarded at 9-4 and over a third at the highest grades of 9-7 (A*/A). Individual performances were particularly impressive, with 17 pupils (30% of the cohort) achieving five or more grades at 9-7 (A*/A), and seven pupils (12%)  securing nine or more at the highest grades.

There were also notable successes across a broad range of subjects. More than half of all grades awarded in History, Art, Further Mathematics, Music and Physics were at grades 9-7 (A*/A), reflecting the strength and breadth of academic achievement across the School.

Headmaster Matt Radley says: “These results are a wonderful reflection of the hard work and commitment of our pupils. There is so much to celebrate, not only in the excellent grades achieved, but in the progress and individual successes behind them. Following the exceptional achievements of our Sixth Form last week, it is particularly pleasing to see another group of King’s pupils achieving results of which they can be extremely proud. My thanks also goes to the teachers and staff for the diligent support and care they have shown to these pupils throughout their GCSEs."

These results add to a highly successful summer for King’s Bruton and provide a strong foundation for pupils as they take their next steps. For the majority, this will mean continuing into the Sixth Form at King’s in September, where last week's impressive results underline the school’s proven ability to help young people secure ambitious university, apprenticeship and career destinations.
