The KSB Motorsport Senior Team made an impressive return to competitive racing in the Greenpower F24+ category at Dunsfold Park, home of the famous Top Gear Test Track.  After a considerable break from racing, the team arrived with a carefully prepared and developed car. The work completed before the event, combined with thorough planning and preparation, provided a strong foundation for the day.

Team driver Willoughby made an excellent start, moving into the top three on the opening lap and maintaining strong performance through the early stages of the race. However, an enforced pit stop dropped the car back to 12th place, leaving the team with significant ground to recover. The team responded positively. Some effective aerodynamic modifications, made following practice, together with excellent teamwork, helped improve the car’s performance. Willoughby then delivered a determined drive, working the car back through the field to secure an outstanding 7th place in a competitive field of 15 F24+ teams. We were fortunate to be joined by Bertie the first Greenpower Team driver from four seasons ago who drove the KSB Motorsport car to third place at the International Finals in 2023

The final result reflected the time, effort and commitment of everyone involved. The team’s ability to prepare the car thoroughly, make changes when necessary and work effectively under pressure played a crucial role in the successful recovery. Special thanks go to Chris for his hard work and support throughout the preparation and event.

With a successful return to racing complete, the team will now begin work on the development of next season’s car. The experience gained at Dunsfold Park will help guide further improvements in performance, reliability and efficiency as the team builds on this encouraging result and graduates from the Junior Team prepare to move into the Senior squad, bringing their skill and knowledge to bear.
