Payment of the registration fee confirms the first stage of the admissions process and enables us to move your child’s application forward.
The School’s Bank Details can be found on the Registration Form. If you have not visited the School at the point of registration, please contact the Head of Admissions to book a visit.

Once a pupil is registered, and before their expected entry to King’s Bruton, the School will request a report from their current school. This will include predicted results for any forthcoming public examinations, such as Common Entrance for Year 9 entry or GCSEs for Year 11 entry. This information forms an important part of the decision‑making process when considering a formal offer of a place.
For applicants joining outside these key entry points, formal examinations are not usually required. In these cases, offers are based on school reports and an informal meeting with the Headmaster, ensuring that each child is considered individually and thoughtfully.
Formal offers are made in writing and are based on school reports together with an informal meeting with the Headmaster. Should you wish to accept the offer, we will ask you to complete the Parent/School Contract (Acceptance Form) and pay the £1,000* deposit. Once these steps are completed, your child’s place at King’s is fully confirmed.
Where a conditional offer is made—for example, for entry into Year 12, which is dependent on GCSE results—those conditions must be met before the place can be guaranteed.
*An additional deposit is payable by parents whose normal residence is outside the EU

The House system is a central and much‑loved part of life at King’s. Every pupil, whether a day pupil or a full boarder, is allocated to a House, which becomes their main point of support and connection throughout their time at the School. For boarders, the House is their home in the evenings; for day pupils, it is their base during the school day. In both cases, it plays a vital role in their pastoral care, wellbeing, and sense of belonging.
This structure underpins the strong, close‑knit community for which King’s is well known. Houses provide continuity, encouragement, and a place where pupils are known and valued as individuals. They also create opportunities for friendships across year groups, healthy competition, and a shared identity that enriches daily school life.
House allocation is ultimately the decision of the Headmaster, but please be aware that occasionally some Houses fill faster than others, and therefore, early commitment/acceptance is advisable.
