Academic Success Maths

Fantastic results have come through to the School this week for this year's UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge.

A total of 57 pupils sat the paper; impressively, over half of our entrants achieved certificates (53%) compared to the national average of 40%. The UKMT Individual Maths Challenges are lively, intriguing multiple choice question papers, which are designed to stimulate interest in Maths. The three levels cover the secondary school range and they attract over 600,000 entries from over 4,000 schools and colleges each year. An example of an early question in this years IMC is: ‘How many squares have 7 as their units digit?’ Particular congratulations go to Jinyuan Zhang and Emma Walker who have been invited to participate in the follow on ‘Kangaroo’ round in March.
