Smashing Spanish Trip To Salamanca!

Spanish Trips Abroad

At 6:30am on Sunday 28th October, a group of 4th Form and 5th Form pupils studying GCSE Spanish set off on the Spanish trip to Salamanca.

Upon arriving in Salamanca, pupils met their Spanish host families and headed to their new homes for the week. The next morning they made their way through the beautiful cobbled streets of the city’s historic centre to one of Salamanca’s best language schools, ISLA. Each morning the pupils enjoyed a few hours of fantastic Spanish tuition taught by a collection of wonderful native speakers.

Once lessons had finished each day, pupils returned to their host families for lunch, before regrouping to enjoy a range of afternoon activities, including a salsa lesson, a guided tour of the city, climbing the cathedral towers, exploring the shops in the city centre, a cooking lesson and a treasure hunt based around La Plaza Mayor. One evening, one of ISLA’s guides, Javi, took the whole group out for tapas. It was wonderful to see pupils throwing themselves into this Spanish tradition with such enthusiasm.

Though it was sad to say goodbye to the host families and to our new Spanish friends at ISLA, overall the trip was a great success and, by the end of the week, everyone’s Spanish has improved and the whole group had grown in confidence. An album of photos from the trip can be seen below.
