The Headmaster is looking forward to the Summer term

Life at King's

After two long years, we seem to have finally resumed normality in our school lives as we start this Summer Term.

It appears certain that we will have external examinations taking place in May and June, and although I know that exams can be stressful, exams probably offer the best method of assessment, and they certainly provide a focus for this busy term.

We will resume our important school event, Commemoration, on May 28th when we celebrate the founders of our school with a school procession, behind the Choir, leading down Plox to a church service in St Mary’s, followed by a lunch for invited guests. ‘Commem’ has been a part of the King’s heritage for centuries and it will be very good to finish this first half of term with this wonderful historic celebration.

Mrs Wilmshurst and I were very fortunate to enjoy another celebratory feast this Friday, when all the School Prefects prepared and cooked a three course Black Tie Dinner in the Headmaster’s House. This has been an annual event since I started as Headmaster at King’s in 2009 (apart from COVID-affected 2021) and it has always been a fun evening and an opportunity for me to thank the School Prefects for all their support.
