A delightful Tea Time Recital by Sixth Form A Level musicians

Concert Sixth Form

On Thursday afternoon we were treated to a delightful Tea Time Recital by Sixth Form A Level musicians...

The programme was a delightful mix of genres from Rachmaninov and English song, to musical theatre and more! The Recital was an opportunity for our A Level musicians to perform in front of a small and supportive audience in preparation for their A Level Performance which is worth 30% of the course. Jocelyn opened the concert with a delightful performance of Moments Musicaux No. 5 by Rachmaninov. This was followed by Jemima performing Adelaide's Lament from the musical Guys and Dolls and How did we come to this? from the musical The Wild Party. Angus then played two pieces including Monti’s famous work Csardas in an arrangement for Tuba. The final two items of the programme were contrasting pieces for bass/baritone voices, Tom sang Ireland’s famous setting of the text Sea Fever and Hugo followed with a performance of Dowland’s setting of Flow, my tears.

It was a most enjoyable recital and it was wonderful to see the musicians supporting each other so well and to have several members of staff and some parents come along to support and enjoy an oasis of music during a busy school day.

Well done and congratulations to all the performers.
