On Wednesday night, two King’s public speaking teams travelled to St. Dunstan’s School in Glastonbury for the Rotary Club Youth Speaks Local Competition.

Against a strong showing from the St. Dunstan’s groups, all of the King’s team members spoke with passion and eloquence. Narnia, Callum and Kiara (all in the Lower 6^th Form) gave a strong speech on the dangers of modern advertising, narrowly missing out on the runners-up position.

The winning team of Holly, Anna and Sam (also all Lower 6^th Form) performed magnificently with a powerful speech which enthralled the room. They were rewarded with certificates, book tokens and the South Somerset trophy. Holly, Anna & Sam have been invited to the next round of the competition which will take place in Street in February. My congratulations to every pupil involved; they were a credit to King's.
