Our international pupils enjoyed a cultural trip followed by shopping...

Video filmed by the pupils.

On Tuesday, the international pupils’ visited the National Trust property, Lytes Cary Manor for their cultural trip. Lytes Cary is a delightful medieval manor house, where the original owner, Henry Lyte, made an English translation of a compendium of herbal remedies. Henry published Niewe Herball in 1578 and dedicated it to Queen Elizabeth. The pupils were able to take a look at this first edition book as well as wander around the furnished home where many pictures, artefacts and pieces of furniture from the time still remain. The artists among our pupils, Hannah and Lynn particularly enjoyed the woodwork of the vaulted ceilings and the portraits of the families who had owned the property. Having visited the delightful gardens, the pupils shared a picnic in the grounds (the weather was perfect) and then they enjoyed a shopping trip to Clark’s Village.

This was a pleasant way to end the term and spend a day together, enjoying a local place of interest.
