We're delighted to announce that 36 King's Bruton athletes qualified for the Somerset Schools Championships on Saturday held at the Yeovil Track!

In warm, perfect conditions our athletes surpassed themselves and achieved some superb performances. The first ever Junior Girls' 300m was run as a new event and to our delight King's scooped 1^st and 2^nd. Lily was awarded a trophy for achieving a Championship best performance and Anya who had already achieved a 3^rd in the 1500m picked up her second certificate for 2^nd place.

Besides Lily being awarded County Champion, King’s achieved a notable four other County Champions: Isaac who ran an impressive 12.08 in the Junior Boys' Hurdles, Millie who threw a county standard 10.19 in the Junior Girls' Shot, Rian in the Inter Boys' Discus and Esther won the Senior Girls' Triple Jump.

Just missing out but achieving well deserved 2^nd places and 3^rd places were: Toby who came 2^nd in the Inter Boys' Shot, Esther who came 2^nd in the Senior Girls' High Jump, Pandy who came 2^nd in the Inter Girls' 200m & 3^rd in the Inter Girls' Discus, Matt who came 2^nd in the Inter Boys' Hurdles and 400m, Millie who came 3^rd in the Junior Girls' Discus, Harriet who came 2^nd in the Inter Girls' 300m, Kitty who came 3^rd in the Junior Girls' High Jump with a personal best performance of 1.55m, Henry who came 3^rd in the Senior Boys' Triple Jump and Lily who came 3^rd in the Junior Girls' 200m.

We now keep our fingers crossed to see who is selected to represent Somerset at the South West Championships in Exeter next Saturday! An album of photos from the event can be seen below. Well done to everyone who competed.
