vs Queen's College Taunton

The 1st XI kicked off their Cricket Festival week with a trip to Queens College Taunton on Saturday. Batting first, King’s started well and quickly found themselves 60-0, however, a number of wickets fell in quick succession with Jay leading the comeback with a fine 148 not out. King’s finished 256-8 off their 35 overs. With the ball, King’s took regular wickets and won by 144 runs.

A mixed King's 2nd/3rd XI scored quickly to finish on 221-3 off their 20 overs. An accurate bowling display and team effort in the field meant King's won by 130 runs.

A convincing win for the U15As. An excellent bowling and fielding display limited Queen's to 101 for 4. King's managed chased them down in 15 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Freddie was 30* with an eye-catching cameo, but Man of the Match was newly-promoted opener Harry, who carried his bat for 36 not out.

King's U14s made 182 for 3 wickets. (Mounde 52, Weekend 40). Some excellent bowling managed to restrict Queen's out for 25.

Our Girls 1st XI won by 4 wickets. Queen’s managed  81-5 off 20 overs, superb bowling/fielding performance from King’s, Phoebe 2-10. King's chased them down in 15 overs with a great opening partnership from Kitty and Ella (20).

vs Wiltshire Queries CC

Sunday saw the 1st XI back in action against a Wiltshire Queries CC XI. Wiltshire won the toss and elected to bat and started well before the spin duo of Archie and Ronnie restricted the run rate. Ronnie finishing with figures of 10 overs, 3 maidens, 6 wickets for just 21 runs! King's again started well before losing a cluster of wickets. Jay and Ronnie managed to see us over the line to a 6 wicket win with Jay finishing 80 not out.

vs the XL Club

The 1st XI took on the XL Club on Monday. Bowling first, King’s managed to restrict the XL Club to 209-8 off 48 overs. Some fine contributions with the bat lead King’s to a 7 wicket victory. Archie the pick of the batters with a very well created 102 not out!

vs Nathan Lyon Academy, Australia

The Cricket Festival week was brought to close with three fixtures against the Nathan Lyon Academy from Australia. A great showcase of cricket here at King’s.

The 1st XI posted a very strong 170-3 off 20 overs with Archie again in the runs with 80 not out. The Nathan Lyon Academy batted aggressively and despite some great bowling in the middle overs, won with 8 balls to spare.

The U15 Boys’ showed great character to recover from 60 for 6 to 146-6 off 20 overs with Samuel scoring 50. They had no response for the pace of Nathan Tribe and King’s won by 36 runs.

The Girls' 1st XI  restricted the Nathan Lyon Academy to 150-4 off 20. King’s batted well to finish 73-7 off 20 in reply. Ella top scored with a well struck 29 off some very accurate bowling. Ella picked up the Player of the Match award.
