In perfect, damp and drizzly cross country conditions, we held the first Marden Trophy for three years.

Eight schools competed: Clayesmore, Bishop Wordsworth’s, Bryanston, Leweston, Milton Abbey, Sherborne, Sherborne Girls, and King’s Bruton. Leweston and Clayesmore won the Senior Boys and Girls events respectively, while Bishop Wordsworth’s and Sherborne Girls won the Inters. Notable runners for King’s Bruton included Anya (2^nd in the Senior Girls) and Flo (3^rd in the Inter Girls). Well done to all who competed, setting a very high standard for the inter house event a fortnight away.
