A Charity roundup of the Christmas Term

I am delighted that we have raised a very significant amount of money for charity this term.

Child Autism UK

For Child Autism UK our total so far is £3429.59 with some more still to come in.

Crisis at Christmas Appeal

Arion 5th Form and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee were raising money and donations to help the homeless. We launched our appeal last Monday in Assembly when I spoke to the school about inclusion and Daisy, Daniella and Abi explained the appeal.

What we wanted to do was raise money for the Crisis at Christmas Appeal 2025. We hoped to raise as many times £29.80 as we could to get 5 or more homeless people off the streets this Christmas. Therefore, hot chocolate and homemade cakes were put on sale for £1 on Wednesday for the Juniors and on Friday for the 6th Form. Over £150 was raised from this which will go straight to Crisis at Christmas.

Youth with a Future

The second part of our appeal was asking for donations for the charity Youth with a Future (YWAF) who over the coming weeks will be collecting items to make up Christmas gift bags for young homeless or threatened with homelessness young people, living in YMCA supported housing in the area.

Tutor groups were encouraged to buy suitable items for 16-25 year olds, such as Christmas treats, toiletries and warm items of clothing. I am delighted that there were so many lovely donations of these things which Mrs Wilson-Brown took to the YWAF charity representative at the weekend.
