A mighty impressive turnout for Priory’s Charity Hockey Festival on Sunday – 12 teams, over 144 players and many more supporters – which meant the festival was held over four pitches with plenty of hockey to be enjoyed. Players ages ranged hugely (Gold Diggers and Geri-Sticks bringing up the average, whilst The Mighty Minis brought it down!) but everyone entered into the spirit of things and were seen playing with large smiles spread across their faces whilst the sun shone. To have siblings, fathers and daughters, friends and peers all enjoying the game was great to see. Impressive efforts on the fancy dress front – Green Beans, The Camelot, Goal Getters, Bleed Pink, They/Them in Black, The Banana Squad, The Bobs and the Boblets, The Gold Diggers – all pulled off their outfits in style.
Thank you to all the Priory students who participated, baked cakes and brownies, served up pancakes, collected playing donations, sold confectionary, set up the pitches, etc. A true team effort. Over £300 raised for our school charity Child Autism UK, which is a really wonderful effort and one to be proud of.
Winners of the Festival were ‘The Morning After the Night Before’, whilst the Best Dressed prize was awarded to ‘The Green Beans’.
