We are delighted to announce that Michael Cachia has been appointed to the role of Housemaster of Lyon from September 2026, taking over from Malcolm Jeffery who has done an exceptional job as Housemaster of Old House and Lyon over the past 15 years.
Michael will be joining us from Baleares International College in Spain, where he has been Head of Mathematics for the past five years. Previously, he has worked as a live-in tutor at Blundell’s in Devon and as a boarding tutor at Ballarat and Clarendon College in Australia. He brings extensive experience and a genuine passion for boarding life, thriving on the 24/7 nature of school life and the endless opportunities it provides. A dedicated sportsman, Michael plays and coaches rugby, hockey, and cricket.
He says: “My family and I are thrilled to be joining the King’s Bruton community. The school feels like a special place where people genuinely care for one another and where excellence is the norm. Boarding houses play a vital role in shaping pupils’ school lives, and I am excited to help create a welcoming, supportive home in Lyon where every student feels known, valued, and is able to flourish.”
We look forward to welcoming Michael and his family to King’s Bruton in September.
