A select group of 6th Form artists attended the Create Your Future Creative Career Showcase in London. This event provided an invaluable opportunity to explore diverse post-18 pathways, with numerous universities and institutions promoting creative courses, apprenticeships, and careers.
The showcase served as an essential platform for our pupils, allowing them to initiate dialogue with potential universities, discuss specific course offerings, and gather information for upcoming open days. The day was highly engaging, featuring several activities, including live workshops, performances, and insightful lectures delivered via Bluetooth headsets. Pupils benefited from Q&A sessions focused on portfolio writing, interview preparation, and spotlighting career opportunities within the creative industries.
The trip was highly successful, facilitating productive discussions with universities from across the UK. Our pupils have now begun the crucial process of narrowing their further education options and are well-positioned to plan future visits to their top-choice institutions.
George Cole - Art Teacher
We visited the UCAS creative careers event in the excel centre in London. This inspired all of us as we got to explore different options for the future and see first hand the incredible range of creative pathways available, from animation and graphic design to fashion and fine art, which made us more excited and confident about pursuing our passions in the arts. We were able to meet a variety of different people from around the country, including university representatives and current students, which gave us valuable insights into the creative industries and what studying at an art university could really be like. It was a great trip and experience, and we would highly recommend it to others.
