To conclude the L6th foundation projects, we are celebrating the achievements of this year’s cohort. With a high standard of skill and creativity across the board, selecting these highlights was no easy decision. We look forward to displaying their bodies of work during this year’s GCSE & A-Level summer exhibition.
Form Project: Buster
Buster possesses a natural affinity for 3D media, developing a sophisticated line of enquiry inspired by Brancusi and Peter Randall Page. His ambitious final piece merges carving, pattern, and projection into an imaginative totemic response. Notably, he independently utilised 3D software to refine the complex angles and planes of his sculptural stack.
Portrait Project: Anstice
Anstice has shown great dedication to portraiture, achieving a heightened sense of form and likeness. By committing to first-hand studies and working directly from life, she has made deeper connections to her subjects. Her refined technical approach marks a significant step forward in her creative practice.
Progress Award: Freya
Freya has grown significantly in confidence, successfully weaving personal interests into her explorations of colour and natural forms. Her drive is evident with her consistent attendance at life drawing and gallery trips, which has bolstered her conceptual depth. Her recent work bridges the gap between painting and 3D form, suggesting an exciting new pathway for her future.
