Our Oddballs charity event took place on Tuesday 19th May, to raise money for the awareness of testicular cancer and in order to try reduce the stigma around it for young men. We began with a 5am tee time at Wheathill which was an early rise for our first 18 holes. However, we made good time of it and swiftly moved to Wincanton which was a challenging round due to it being the hottest day of the year. We all managed to push through this obstacle and then made it to Sherborne, which wouldn’t have been possible without Nicki who worked her magic allowing for us to be able to get a tee time on a very busy day. This busyness did mean that Sherborne was a slow 18 holes and the most mentally demanding for some of us (Milo) who wasn’t a fan of the slow golf which took place here. This resulted in a huge rush and lots of pressure to make it to Cricket St Thomas for our final round in time, we managed to find our final burst of energy and finished the last round in only 2 hours and 15 minutes which required a lot of running between shots and good motivation from each other, the final 5 holes were played in the dark which meant we had to hit and hope our ball went straight, this lead to us eventually finishing the 72 holes at 10.15pm, which was 17 hours of hard work and determination, which all felt so worth it by the final green.
