Last term our school charity was the DOCS Foundation. The Headmaster set a challenge for the pupils to raise £3000. Pupils arranged fundraising events including: a Burns Night, BTEC Enterprise food stalls at breaktimes, Lyon House Dodgeball, Arion House Crêpe Stall, Wellesley House Valentine Chocolates and a mufti day and raised £1184.
£2484 was raised by Jeevan and the pupils and staff who ran the Portland Half Marathon in February, which was a fantastic amount and means that our final total is £3,668 which exceeds the Headmaster’s original target. This money will go to providing food, education, healthcare, and shelter for the children in the orphanage in Nepal. Thank you to all the King’s Bruton Community who have supported the fundraising for the DOCS foundation last term.

I’m very grateful and pleased with how much money was raised last term - it’s amazing to see how generous everyone has been. They and I really appreciate the support, and I know it’ll go a very long way to help the orphanage. Next year during my gap year, I am planning to go back, accompanied by a few friends, and see the works in action and potentially get directly involved. It’ll be great to see the place again and do something not only useful but rewarding while we’re out there. Jeevan - Senior Prefect
