Following on from the highly entertaining and exciting 4th round victory versus Cheltenham College, the Girls' 1st XI travelled to Canford to contest the National Quarter Final, which was also the West of England Final. Canford, having enjoyed a very successful season themselves to date, started the game well. However King's played their way into the match and two quick fire goals from the talismanic Georgia D, shifted the momentum of the game in their favour and King's went into half time two goals to the good. As expected, Canford came out fast in the second half looking to reduce the deficit, however the King's girls demonstrated their grit, resilience and determination, to keep their lead intact, before a well taken goal from Ella C towards the end of the game saw King's extend their lead. Canford scored a late consolation but it wasn't enough as King's held on to record a 3-1 victory and secure a semi-final away at Latymer Upper School next term. The way in which the team has developed this term is a testament to their character and how they have approached both training and matches alike and a huge thank you to all the girls for their incredible commitment shown in what is becoming a very memorable season indeed.
