The King’s rugby and hockey teams got their seasons underway with matches versus Dauntsey’s School, fixtures which are always tough but played in a competitive and good spirit. This was certainly the case on Saturday as all of the teams demonstrated a great attitude, as well as identifying areas to work on in this next week of training.
There were very pleasing victories for both the 1st XI and U14A hockey teams as the 1sts ran out 3-0 winners courtesy of debut goals from Georgia D and player of the match Elena U(2). Evie G and Sophie C were named players of the match in the impressive 5-0 victory for the U14As in their first match for King’s. Well done also to Martha K-H, Sophia W, Teresa W, Carla R, JJ McG and Martha M for their player of the match performances.
In rugby there were plenty of positives to take from the afternoon whilst also identifying areas for improvement from their training games. There were some excellent defensive performances across the teams as they were under pressure against tough and physical opposition. Congratulations to the following players for their player of the match performances: 1st XV: Harry G, 2nd XV: Freddie C, U16A: Charlie O, U15A: Lochie L, U14A: William S.
