A Celebration of Sport at King's Bruton

It was wonderful to welcome back some Old Brutonians to play in our hockey and cricket matches versus the school at our Celebration of Sport in some blisteringly hot weather conditions. The boys' hockey match was an entertaining and high scoring affair, as the School won 6-3, despite a wonder goal from OB Aled Downes. Equally, the girls' hockey match was competitive, and again played in a fantastic spirit, with the OBs coming away with a 3-1 victory, thanked largely to the stellar performance from Georgia McDade in goal. Finally, the cricket was a little more one sided as the School came away with a comfortable win, however, the match was played in the right way with both teams enjoying themselves. With such occasions, it is all about the opportunity to catch up with the OBs and to hear of the interesting and varied things they have been doing since leaving school, and for most, it is great to hear how sport remains an integral part of their lives.
