The Junior Play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, was a hugely impressive production, showcasing outstanding ensemble work throughout. The cast worked seamlessly together, most notably in the train scenes, where they created an overwhelming and immersive atmosphere that powerfully reflected Christopher’s experience.

Characterisation across the cast was equally strong, with a mature and thoughtful approach to developing roles. Performers clearly understood and reflected the playwright’s intentions, bringing depth and authenticity to each character. Themes were handled with sensitivity and intelligence, demonstrating an excellent understanding of the play’s core ideas.

A particular well done to Will S, who played Christopher. It is a huge role at any age, but to tackle it with such success whilst in 3rd Form is a magnificent achievement! Congratulations also to Nella, Barney and Orlaith for their performances, all of which were marked by maturity, excellent characterisation and consistency throughout.

Thank you to the entire cast and crew for embracing the ideas, committing fully to both the process and the performance. This was hugely impressive work. Well done to everyone involved. For some it was their first production at King's, for others their last "junior" play, but for all it demonstrated exactly what being involved in a production should be about - community, teamwork, creativity and ultimately, enjoyment for both the team and audience alike. I look forward to seeing many of them take part in the whole school production starting in September.
