King’s Bruton has a wide and extensive campus situated in the beautiful and historic Somerset town of Bruton. Bruton itself offers a rich backdrop to school life. The town is home to respected cultural centres such as Hauser & Wirth Somerset and The Newt in Somerset, both of which contribute meaningfully to the wider educational and artistic opportunities available to our pupils. Overlooking the town is the iconic Dovecote, a historic landmark that forms part of the daily landscape for our pupils and reflects the long heritage of the area. Despite its peaceful rural setting, Bruton is also extremely well connected, with direct rail links to London and easy access to Bath, Bristol and the wider South West, making the school accessible while preserving the beauty of its Somerset surroundings.

Purpose-built Science Facilities
Three spacious, light-filled Biology laboratories, each with dedicated teaching and practical areas, located alongside Chemistry and Food Science to encourage collaborative, cross-disciplinary learning.
Chaplaincy Centre
A calm and welcoming space at the centre of school life, offering accessible pastoral and spiritual support for both pupils and staff.
Historic & Newly Refurbished Classrooms
A thoughtfully refurbished History Department (opened September 2025), set within the school’s historic heart, including original classrooms dating back to 1519.
Sixth Form Learning Spaces
A dynamic Politics classroom within the Sixth Form Centre, providing an engaging and accessible environment for A Level study.
Mathematics Department
A suite of four dedicated classrooms supports focused learning, alongside regular Maths workshops held four afternoons a week, offering pupils of all abilities the opportunity for additional support and challenge.
Art & Design Technology
Five specialist Art teaching spaces, including a main studio, textiles studio, printmaking and darkroom, ceramics and 3D studio, and a dedicated Sixth Form studio. Alongside this, an impressive Design & Technology suite features advanced equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters, complemented by a large kiln, 10-computer suite, two gallery spaces, and an in-house photography area.
Sport & Fitness
An extensive range of pitches and sports facilities, supported by a well-equipped gym, offering excellent opportunities for training, competition and fitness development at every level.
Music School
The Queen Elizabeth Music School provides exceptional facilities, centred around the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall with a Steinway grand piano. Pupils also benefit from a recording studio, Music Technology suite, dedicated practice rooms, and a range of specialist instruments.
Food & Nutrition
Industrial-standard kitchens for Sixth Form, complete with large preparation areas and dedicated teaching space, sit alongside a modern, interactive kitchen for younger pupils studying Food Preparation and Nutrition
