Wellbeing Life at King's

On Monday, the Sixth Form led teachers and pupils at the end of the day in some great dance moves.

The aim was to laugh with friends and relax as it’s impossible to worry and laugh at the same time. Studies show that dance, has a positive effect on anxiety. Just like running, dance has the effect of distraction from pressures, it brings us back to a more primitive, and therefore, more liberated state of mind, even when singing along to YMCA by The Village People.

As Dr. Amy Fancourt told King’s staff, "Pupil wellbeing is helped when novelty is put into the curriculum - it lifts the spirit and gives us all something to look forward to."

Alison Grant - Deputy Head

"5 of us went up to lead the dance on Monday afternoon. We were very happy and excited to take part. Having dressed up in colourful clothing we followed a 'Just Dance' video to 5 songs, including the 'Macarena'. It was good to get to up and have a laugh with the people that joined in!" - Katie - U6th Form.
