Monday saw the Girls' U15s team in National T20 action against Taunton School. Batting first, captain Lucy W batted extremely well to help the team post a competitive score. Sophie M then led the way with the ball and King's produced a great fielding performance.
The Boys' 1st XI had a very successful week of National Cup action as they reach the National Schools T20 South Quarter Final to be played later in the term.
The week was completed with a Block fixture against Dauntsey's School and Queen's College, Taunton. A depleted U14As side battled very well against a strong Dauntsey's outfit to lose out by 8 wickets. The U14Bs gave a spirited performance whilst the U15As showed real grit and determination to fall narrowly short of Dauntsey's total. The U15Bs were outstanding as they fell just short of a the total set by Dauntseys with Oliver L leading the way with the bat.
The Girls' 1st XI team travelled to Queen's College, Taunton. Bowling first, King's produced their best performance to date to reduce Queen's College to 80 all out. Ava O produced a double wicket maiden to add to her other wicket on the day with Ella C also picked up three wickets. Both opening batters for King's Bruton would reach retirement , Alex R (31) and Liv B (41) to see King's Bruton win by 10 wickets.
It was a huge Saturday success for the Boys' 1st & 2nd XIs who both recorded victories against Dauntsey's. The Boys' 1st XI posted a very strong 227-9 off their allocated overs with Ronnie F (80) and Bruce W (72) the pick of the batters. Bruce then produced a fine spell of bowling to pick up three wickets before debutant Hugo F recorded figures on 6-0-4-30 to see King's win by 36 runs. The 2nd XI completed a great victory having restricted Dauntsey's to 147-5 off their 25 overs. Milo M (91) was then ably supported by Jamie H to see King's win by 7 wickets.
