Cricket at King’s Bruton has recently earned two prestigious National accolades. The school has been named in the Top 100 of The Cricketer National Schools Guide 2026 and has also been awarded XL Club West ‘Best Performing School’ at the National Awards held at Lord’s.

These honours highlight the exceptional breadth and quality of cricketing opportunities available to pupils at King’s. With more than 100 fixtures each year, four grass squares, extensive indoor facilities to support the Winter Programme, and coaching from current County Pathway coaches, King’s offers one of the most comprehensive cricket programmes in the country.

A significant number of pupils are involved in County, Regional, and International Pathways, with three Old Brutonians currently representing international age-group sides. King’s enters national competitions at U15 and U18 level for both boys and girls, alongside a full schedule of block fixtures against many of the top cricketing schools in the country. Our dedicated Girls’ Programme mirrors the boys’ structure and ambition, and specialist coaching is led by our Head of Cricket, Mr Crump (ECB & CoachEd Level 3), and Mr Dawson (ECB Level 3 and Gloucestershire Women’s Assistant Head Coach).

“I am extremely proud of the recognition that our cricket programme has received, and I am delighted that both awards reflect the tremendous hard work of our pupils, the Cricket Department, the Grounds Staff, and everyone who contributes to the success of cricket at King’s. These awards are a great source of pride for the school. They speak to the commitment of our pupils, who train year-round, the dedication of our staff, and the outstanding facilities we are fortunate to offer.”

King’s is also proud to host Glamorgan Academy Girls’ sessions during the winter, as well as a range of Somerset County Age Group fixtures throughout the summer term.
