Our talented Girls' U15 cricket team travelled to St George’s Cricket Club in Shropshire to compete in the prestigious Sisters n Sport National Super 8s Finals Day. It was a day filled with excitement, determination, and outstanding team spirit as the girls represented King’s with pride on the national stage.

In the semi-final match, King's faced a strong side from Cotswold School. After winning the toss, captain Tilly E made the strategic decision to field first. The team delivered a disciplined bowling performance, supported by sharp and energetic fielding, which restricted Cotswold School to a modest total of 59 runs from their allotted overs.

In response, King's batted with composure and purpose. Despite the pressure of a national semi-final, the girls kept their nerve and chased down the target in the final over, securing victory by 7 wickets. It was a thrilling finish and a testament to the team's resilience and focus.

The win earned King's a place in the National Cup Final, where they faced James Allen's Girls’ School (JAGS) from London. Once again, Tilly E won the toss and opted to field, a decision that had paid off earlier in the day. The bowlers rose to the occasion, limiting JAGS to 73 runs with another strong display of accuracy and teamwork.

Chasing a competitive total, King's began their innings with intent. However, despite a determined effort, the team lost wickets at regular intervals and ultimately fell just short of the required total.

Although the final did not go their way, the girls can take immense pride in what they have achieved. Reaching a national final is a remarkable accomplishment and a reflection of the hard work, skill, and spirit shown throughout the season. We are incredibly proud of the team, and we look forward to watching their cricketing journey continue to flourish in the years ahead.
