Riding the Waves: Royal Navy CCF cadets take on surfing at The Wave

CCF Activities

For our final Royal Navy CCF session of the year, cadets swapped uniform for wetsuits and suncream as we headed to The Wave in Bristol, the UK’s inland surfing destination. Under bright skies on the hottest day of the year, cadets rose to the challenge of learning to surf, many managing to stand up on their boards and ride the clean, rolling waves like naturals.

The day was not just about fun and testing balance, it was also abut testing our resilience and confidence, values we are continually working to develop within the Royal Navy section. From very amusing and spectacular wipeouts to triumphs on the crest of a wave, every cadet left with smiles and stories to tell. A fitting and refreshing end to an action-packed year of Royal Navy CCF - cool water, sunshine, and shared achievement.
