King's Bruton 4th Form CCF Army & RN Cadets ventured to the Dorset Coast for an Adventure Training Day with Jim Oakley Adventures.
A carousel of activities throughout the day saw the cadets rock climbing with a fantastic view of the sea and Jurassic coastline. Challenging climbs took the cadets out of their comfort zones and it was inspiring to see so many overcome initial fears and doubts and master the various climbs and support each other. Cadets also donned wetsuits and safety gear and had an exhilarating time coasteering in the sea, swimming and plunging off rocks into the sea. A great deal of enjoyment was had by all as the sea and the waves made the experience more memorable. The final activity saw cadets undertake escape and evasion manoeuvres in the surrounding area which built upon some of the skills the cadets have been learning on a Friday afternoon. King’s Bruton have got some very good escape artists who are very difficult to find in the natural environment!!
A great day to start their CCF journey at King’s and many more adventures to come.
