This week the Royal Navy Cadets received a special invite to the Wildcat (helicopter) Training Centre at HMS Heron where the nations squadron of Wildcat helicopters is based. They were treated to a personal tour of the facility by Lt Cdr Knott, including live helicopter flights, active maintenance hangars, training hangers and immersive flight simulators where the cadets took the pilot's seat to fly (and sometimes crash) a Wildcat helicopter onto oil rigs and aircraft carriers. It was a high pressure, demanding experience that required concentration while processing instructions from Lt Cdr Knott. Once again, King's Bruton Cadets did themselves proud by rising to the challenge.
